I don't know what I'll set out to achieve with this blog, but over the coming weeks and months I'll fill it with things and hopefully you'll all like my things.
I'll start by briefly discussing the few things that's happened over recent weeks.
First up, I got the amazing opportunity to hold my book for the first time in print format. Say what you like about ebooks (and I love them personally), but nothing will compare to holding the print copy in your hand. Since that moment, less than three weeks ago, 50 copies have already been sold, meaning a third of the print run has already gone. Amazing!
A big part of those sales came last weekend at FurDu 2014. This was an unbelievable weekend and I enjoyed every last moment of it. Drinks were had, books were sold, and the Writing Panel I was a part of went well. Already looking forward to next year!
The weekend before that I was in Melbourne for the inaugural Queermance Writing Festival. This too was an amazing experience, and as it should also be running next year, I have to recommend it to anyone who has an interest in LGBT fiction and/or romance. Again, the panel I was a part of seemed to be well-received, and I'm certainly hoping to be back down there next year.
And in the future?
Well, the Aurealis Awards for Australian Speculative Fiction are being held in Canberra next weekend, and I'm sure that'll be a blast. I'll talk about that in my next blog.
And a little note for those who want to read a new short story of mine, I posted Coffee and Kisses to my Goodreads page a little earlier. Feel free to leave a comment there.
This has largely been a quick introductory blog. I hope you'll join me as I delve into whatever topics my mind takes me down.
